I have run across some 'commenters' who I think are trying to 'poison the well'. It doesn't take a whole lot of smarts to make idiotic comments and then point to those comments as 'proof' a 'Stack needs to be censored.

"and antisemitic" - LMAO. They have nothing against Semites (those who speak a Semitic language). Now those Zionists they are definitely against. Anti-Zionist would be the accurate term. Interestingly a lot of them fall into the same category as people like Max Blumenthal and Lee Camp (both Jews). Are Max and Lee "antisemitic"?

OK. You're showing me how brilliant you are by beating me over the head with the strict definition compared to the every day meaning.

You got me, karen.

It's important to use the correct definition of the word. That is how we communicate. If you don't use the correct definition of the word, nobody is clear on what you mean.

We are getting into an age-old debate about word meaning.

What determines what the words mean? The way the words are used in the everyday meaning by ordinary-average people? Or the woke college professors and dictionary writers trying to remake society.

Merriam-Webster changed the definitions of words тАЬmale,тАЭ тАЬfemale,тАЭ тАЬboy,тАЭ and тАЬgirlтАЭ to include gender identity. Is that how we use those words? Did that arise organically? Or was it an initiative by activists to conceal their efforts to change what and how people think?

If you're writing an academic paper, the distinction between anti-Zionist and anti-semite may matter. If you're trying say Hamas and it's sympathizers aren't really Jew-haters, they're the kind of anti-semites who oppose colonization to form a state of Israel, you're promoting a lie.

During my lifetime (68 years), it's only in the last few months people have tried to cleverly parse "anti-semite" to mean "against those who speak a Semitic language." It has always meant those who discriminate against Jews.

Let's get one thing straight. Hamas and it's sympathizers are haters. They hate Jews. They are consumed with hate for a group of people. Don't try to cloak that fact with linguistic sleight-of-hand.

And don't you and TRM dare try to mock and shame me as an ignorant redneck b/c I'm not adopting your woke-speak.

How stupid. Being Jewish is a religious distinction. Zionism was and is a political campaign to turn Jewishness into a nationality. And pursue a nation-state where others have lived for hundreds of years, with the goal of displacing them. I don't really care who wins, it's certainly no biz of the U.S. who does. It's a religious war between Zionist Jews and Muslims. We in the West paid a dear price in blood and war to arrive at a place of religious tolerance in our societies. Apparently those folks do not wish to do so. Oh well, sucks to be them. But it is awfully stupid to start a war with 500 million of your neighbors when you are a tiny nation.

The distinction between anti-Zionist and anti-semite matters no matter what sort of communication is going on. They are 2 entirely different things. Anti-Semite has NEVER meant those who discriminate against Jews. You are the one promoting a lie.

Evil Incarnate's avatar

If you think anti-Semite has traditionally meant "discrimination against those who speak a Semitic language," you're delusional. That's never been a thing until recently. Nobody lumped Arabic and Hebrew speakers together, separated them from every other group, and made them objects of hate, inferiority, or any other form of discrimination. You think Nazi's (real Nazi's) weren't anti-semitic? Didn't they seek alliances with the Muslim world, including Arabic speakers?

Likewise, anti-Zionist is a term that only recently came into widespread use. It's used to describe Palestinians, who want to wipe Jews off the face of the earth, and make it sound like they only want social justice.

Yes, technically anti-Zionist and anti-Semitic are different terms. For TRM, with his lame "LMAO," to school me on my us of "anti-semitic" in the context I used it in is being a language grandma.

You and TRM are both woke, arrogant shits. You think you know more than you really do. Where did TRM get the idea anti-semitic means anti-people who speak semitic? That's not even a part of the dictionary definition. And from where did you conclude anti-jew has NEVER been the meaning of anti-semitic? With NEVER in caps.

You both read that from other people who made it up for propaganda purposes. And you fell for it.

You're both woke, ignorant fucks.

And another thing, clown. What is your basis for saying "Anti-Semite has NEVER meant those who discriminate against Jews. " That's EXACTLY what the dictionary definition is:

anti-Semitism

noun

an┬╖тАЛti-Sem┬╖тАЛi┬╖тАЛtism ╦Мan-t─У-╦Иse-m╔Щ-╦Мti-z╔Щm, ╦Мan-╦Мt─л-

variants or less commonly antisemitism

Because it advocates a European invasion of the middle east in one of the last gasp colonial land grabs? Because it advocates ethnic cleansing? Maybe go chat with Lee Camp or Max Blumenthal about it.

If you are up for a bit of reading I'd recommend "Zionism. The real enemy of the Jews" by Alan Hart (Golda Meir's good friend). One rabbi told him "You have summed up the problem for Jews in 7 words".

Oh shut up with your tired propaganda. We are beyond word games. The days when Zionists and their political puppets in the U.S. can get away with lies and BS and anti-historical word games are past. My guess is you have no grasp on the history of Zionism at all. Are you familiar with the work of the 'New Historians' which was based on Israeli govt docs that were held secret for 50 years? My guess is that you don't, which should embarrass you after running your ignorant yap. If you do, well you are just another biased liar. Happy to decimate anything you have to offer, bring it. Nobody is going anywhere so it's long past time for both sides to face that fact. The Arabs are not going to do the ethnic cleansing of Palestine for you and the Israelis have nukes including H-Bombs so "From the river to the sea will be glassy (and radioactive)".

Time for both sides to grow up and quit acting like 2 year olds.

Gosh, why did Gold Meir identify as a Palestinian Jew? In her own words? How come she didn't know 'There is no "Palestine"? Are you better informed on the region and its history? And it's been called Palestine for ages, you idiot.

This sickening word game is particularly repugnant. Much of the world was not organized in Western style nation-states until the past couple of hundred year. In the wake of WWI and then WWII, Arabs were seeking a national identity but the Western powers effed all up. Sykes Picot and on and on, divvying up the Arab world based on idiotic ignorance that was never sustainable.

Palestine is a territory that was controlled by Muslims for more time than Jews, dingus. Stop discussing things you don't understand. The Romans named it Palestine cuz of the Philistines living there almost 2 millennia ago, you ignorant hack. Go away now, stupid isn't selling here.

I can't prove the 2020 election was stolen either. But a LOT of things happened that statistically are extremely, extremely unlikely. Followed by circling the wagons to avoid answering any questions. As was said a million times when Trump was investigated by Mueller/Weisman for colluding with the Russians to steal the election, "if he didn't do anything wrong, what does he have to hide?

I'm not going to just pretend I didn't see this stuff.

They have plenty of creative thinkers dreaming up innovative ways to promote their agitprop. No original ideas are coming from the commenters here.

If anyone did anything to the US election it would have been China, not Russia from my observations. They have far more to gain and a reason to get back at the guy. DT stuck it into them in a big way when he became POTUS and that was a signal for them to get to it and work on keeping him out. They Dems only claimed collusion with the Russians because DT reached out to Putin where as they have been doing the opposite. Its really easy to claim "collusion" when your enemy makes friends with your enemy. Its all part of the game. Unfortunately, you lot are going to the polls again and you can bet there will be even bigger problems this time with mail in ballots, counting machines and more importantly, Dominion systems being involved. We are facing the same problem, Australians don't realise that some states in this country employ those same systems. You vote with a pencil in this country, Those who know better take a a sharpie of ball point pen and use that.

O's second term was also a 'gift'. ERIC boasted in 2021 it 'located' 17 million new voters for the 2020 election, the most in the history of their organization, For comparison, they only found 5.7 million new voters in 2012, Obama's reelection. Did these 'new' voters vote, or were their names used on mail-in-ballots?

Both sides of the fence are doing the same thing the leftists and conservatives are all running "provocateurs" in forums. Idiots running round in here playing the anti vax card while calling themselves pure blood and clean blood while referring to the vaxxed as sheeple and mudbloods. (Divide and conquer) is a good example. Both sides are engaged in the same tactics. There is no morality in any war, information or kinetic. It is all about who can lie the best and make the other side look worse than your own and try and get others to defect and wake up the sleeping masses with whatever facts we can so they no longer fall under the influence of the Leftist useful idiots.

if there is an organized conservative provocateur effort that would be surprising.

I have seen people referring to themselves as pureblood, which is silly, given that maybe no one can escape the consequences to the blood from various vectors. Mostly what I have seen on line are un injected people being mostly kind and forgiving and trying to at least present their side. Even if they were reviled, hated and threatened early on.

Where I am there was no problem. Want to inject yourself, go ahead weezy. Wear a muzzle, stand six feet away, whatever.

Yes, there is no morality in war unless you consider the just war theory. There are certain things you don't do. The concept of war to the knife and knife to the hilt always has a say depending on the situation.

There are certain things that are true. Things that are not subjective, not opinion and not negotiable. These things are worth supporting and standing for. Even if it is fashionable to think otherwise.
