I would say that the upside to Israel approaches zero. They have to fight wars that they may not win including not only Hamas, but possibly Hezbollah and Iran. There is another school of thought on this, promulgated in other countries that oil is a natural geological product which is not based in plant matter, but is CONTINUOUSLY produced by geological processes in the Earth. Thus explains why we are not running out of “fossil” fuels despite exceeding reserve estimates over time.
