While the Trump drama is tiresome, the topic is emblematic of how dangerous our ruling class has become, and how we must never trust, accept or fund their bullcrap.

Trump's woes are our woes because he is the (very vocal) canary in this coal mine / cess pool we call DC.

I may not hang in every new kabuki act from this shitshow, but I haven't given up either.

People need to remember, the "Trump drama" isn't being brought to us by Trump. I would think it is obvious but obviously not.

Maybe everyone and anyone who needed to succeed, at that time, may HAVE TO at least dip their toes into the dirty water at that time?? Just guessing.

Or, if one needed to stay alive, then he may have to at least smile at the bad kids too?

I completely disagree on your abandonment of Trump. The actions they are taking are specifically to pull him out of the running. All the more reason to vote for him. I believe he--now that he has been indicted several times--better understands (better than most) how important it is to dismantle the swamp.

Expand full comment

Jordan and many commenters are tired of Trump and his supporters.

But they certainly support the 1st Amendment.

These indictments are not about Trump.

It's about criminalizing dissent and punishing the millions who voted for him-

and warning them not to do it again.

Trump's OPINION that the election was stolen from him is being criminalized.

If he is sentenced as guilty, YOUR OPINION can just a easily become a crime.

The left wants to criminalize dissent.

That is what is going on here.

They don't believe you should get a vote, much less have an opinion.

If you think this is bad,

just wait.

200% True. We are all being threatened by this. If he goes down, there will be no fear of going after average citizens. Am I tired of it? Absolutely. But that's what they want. Wear people down until they give up and abandon him. Then if they can do that to a president and now former president and billionaire, us average citizens are a piece of cake.

Jordan is 100% right. The days of Trump being able to affect positive change ended in the beginning of 2020.

He brought this current situation on himself by failing to keep his #1 campaign promise - to drain the swamp. He promised to surround himself with the best people. He did not. Now he is unfortunately reaping the harvest of his unkept promises.

I voted for him in 2020 but in the primary, he will not get my vote again. Fairly or not, he’s too polarizing of a figure at this point to stand a chance. And even if he did win (which I believe he did in 2020), there’s nothing to stop them from taking it away again. And he will just peace out again to Mar-a-Lago, like he did while his supporters continue to languish in federal custody without a word or any effort on his part to help them.

As for "affecting positive change", Trump's greatest achievement was restoring a Supreme Court that follows the Constitution.

As for "peacing out to Mar a Lago":Trump has said publicly that he will pardon those J6ers unfairly jailed and will look at each case.

As for polarizing: ANY candidate opposing the Dems will be crucified, not just Trump. DeSantis would be eaten for breakfast if not for lunch.

Expand full comment

DeSantis has proven he knows how to deal with opposition without lashing out like a child. He also has strong support among the thousands of people like me who can grasp that Trump is too damaged to be viable.

Is DeSantis perfect? Of course not, he’s a career politician. But he has backed up his promises with action, something Trump has failed to do in many cases.

Career politician is the operative phrase!

Doesn’t. Matter. If. He. Does. What. He. Says. He. Will. Do.

Unlike Trump, who talks a good game but failed at a LOT of important follow-through.

DeSantis is a shill. He's more than happy to watch the leader get indicted in politically motived hit job, jump on the bandwagon, and use it to score points in the polls. I would have supported him if spoken out against what is happening with Trump. Instead, he's like every other career politician--in it for themselves. He doesn't belong anywhere around power. I'll never vote for DeSantis and will actively campaign against him--long after Trump is gone.

Expand full comment

I like his state policies but he would never be permitted by the swamp to put them on a national scale.

And he came out against the war in Ukraine and the 48 hours later corrected himself and supported it.

His billionaire donors got to him.

Not a good sign.

But a good governor.

Sadly DeSantis's biggest problem is that a bunch of people are vocally supporting him with idiotic arguments, see the OP for an example.

Does Kayleigh McEneny want him and you dead? Because he certainly acted childish towards her when he didn’t like the way she phrased his lead in an interview. This was a woman who daily took hit after hit for him, and the one time he doesn’t like the way she phrases something, he starts calling her names.

Your line of reasoning is ridiculous. I don’t give a crap if he talks smack about leftists and commies. I do, however, care when he ACTS LIKE A CHILD towards people who are on the same team.

I completely disagree with you. I think your opinion is completely unrealistic. There isn't a single one of us, walking into Washington, D.C., for the first time as president--having no experience in politics--wouldn't have done the exact same thing. We would have surrounded ourselves with experienced politicians who (we would have thought we could trust to help us navigate Washington). None of us--Trump included--fully understood how deep the swamp truly is and how corrupt Washington is. They won't let him win--they stole it once and got away with it. They will do it again. I don't know how he can possibly help them until get's into a position of power. They are throwing everything at him..when that fails, they will Kennedy him.

Nobody is making excuses..but holding him to unrealistic expectations is foolish. Somehow he was supposed to know what everyone else didn't. That stupid. It's easier and saner to unplug. I don't know how old Jordan is but this is nothing new. Any anti-establishmentarian will get the treatment. It was true of Reagan. We just didn't have the internet back in Reagan's day to amplify the amount of drama.

There is no way the swamp creatures of DC want to see a second term of DJT. It is obvious they are very worried and are doing everything in their power short of assasination to prevent a second term.

This will be true going forward. The bureaucracy, media, and entertainment culture will have their narrative, and anyone who opposes that narrative will get the treatment. Fall in line or be devoured.

Propaganda is now an art form.

This will not end with Donald Trump. He is a bellwether of what is to come.

I have much to agree with Jordan's article. But I disagree that Trump going away will make this all go away. Trump just has more grassroots popularity than any politician I have ever seen, and that is why he is a threat.

Sorry to disagree with you but I think you are wrong.

This is being done TO Trump, not by Trump. Do I think he is perfect? No, I don’t. And yes, I do get tired of the whole thing. But that is exactly what ‘they’ are trying to accomplish.

The fact is that the current President of the United States of America has indicted and arrested his number one political opponent in order to undermine his candidacy for the Presidency.

This is the stuff of banana republics. It has never happened before in our history.

We used to go after foreign leaders who used similar tactics against their political opponents with economic sanctions and other measures.

This alone is reason enough to begin impeachment proceedings against Joe Biden.

This is a BIG deal.

And I haven’t even mentioned the charges of corruption and influence peddling (and the possibility that Joseph Biden is a paid Chinese asset) made against the Biden Family.....nor have I mentioned the evidence of election fraud in 2020, or the use of the Justice Department and FBI to undermine Trump’s first term with the ‘Russian collusion’ operation...... and the list goes on.

Biden, his minders and the Democratic Party (with their foreign allies in the WEF cheering them on) are doing everything in their power to circumvent the Constitution and the rule of law in this country and replace it with one party rule.

There are only three things holding them back (somewhat);

the Supreme Court, Republican control of the House of Representatives, and their fear of Donald Trump being re-elected.

If they can do this to a former President of the United States, think what they can do, and will do, to the rest of us....

This is a very big deal......

FEW people, even today, know the truth about the plandemic. Trump was never going to mandate the vaxx. He told people it's our choice. He fully intended to open up, and clean house in his second term. But, he had to get elected first. BTW he won. Biden locked everyone down and mandated.

Only Trump, and RFK Jr will attempt to clean out the Bureaucrats. The rest of the candidates are pasta - throw them against the wall and see if one sticks. The neocons are status quo, and will continue to rape and pillage society.
