We don't have to twist ourselves into enigmas and conundrums here. It's not that complicated.
Killing civilians and children is wrong, whether Israel does it or Hamas does it, whether or not the children and civilians are indigenous to the land on which they're killed, whether or not the weapons are rocks, bullets, bombs, or patriot missiles. Killing civilians and children is wrong.
Israel lost the moral high ground when their response was so much worse than the original crime. I and most of the world supports Israel's right to exist and to enforce its laws and punish criminals. But it has become an apartheid state and needs to move asap to a two-state solution. Otherwise events like this will continue to occur. If the Israeli army literally invades and kills all Palestinians in Gaza, that would be ethnic cleansing or genocide, depending on your definition of those words.
I believe it's clear as day to anyone who isn't emotionally blinded by their support of one side or the other, that only a two-state solution can be humane and sustainable.
That's the present.
We can argue about history and its engimas until the end of time.
So what would you say about Americans? Canadians? Brazilians? South Americans? Are they real?
There are many versions of history. The present should interest us humans the most.

I don't care how handsome you are. You're wrong, frankly, across the board.
Sometimes wars settle national disputes. Sometimes they don't. They are often/always costly in terms of lives and money. There is not a cheap war.
Israel rightly declared war on Hamas.
