I say when we are 33 trillion dollars in debt, foreign aid should disappear in any form to anybody. Does that sound uncaring or cruel…..or maybe logical. We need to mind our own business.

Especially when we are not able to audit the books

Imagine giving your financial adviser full accounting access and then the firm telling you, "Nah it's all good, don't worry about your vested interest decreasing. We've got you covered. Trust us.

Safe and effective = This is Israel's 9/11 = Weapons of Mass Destruction = Box cutters and passports

What a unique idea! Mind our own business. What we should have been doing, IMO, since before I was born.

Yes, it’s not quantum physics.

Lethal aid to Ukraine isn’t “foreign aid”…it’s defense spending to degrade our enemy’s military. And the terrorists that attacked Israel are an arm of Iran another of our enemies. I opposed Bush/Cheney and so I agree their tax cuts and defense spending were asinine and increased our debt while tanking our economy…but we must look ahead and not make the same mistakes going forward.

Bert Powers's avatar

I understand your thinking. Perhaps we could just make fewer enemies.Neither Russia or Iran have attacked America directly. Mexico has by allowing millions of drugs and people to cross over their border along with China who is making the drugs in Mexico. I would consider those two countries the biggest threat to America right now, for those reasons.

I saw that when serving in the military back in the 70's. Most of the Non Commissioned Officers were minorities. I will say that most of them were good at their jobs and fair minded. The numbers were askew back then in the military. I have always wondered why, and this answers the question. Divide and conquer again.

All bad by any measure. We are in a spiritual war. It is time for people to wake up to that and start fighting with truth and the demand for justice for everyone, not just the people we agree with or who look like us. Knowledge is power.

Mitigating Mockingbirds's avatar

Do some digging and see what ISIS was/is and who created (and still funds) Hamas

also check out some 2014 stuff in Ukraine where some might argue, was the start of WW3

Mitigating Mockingbirds's avatar

Imagine believe the legacy media talking points after the last 3-4 years (to be kind)

and then?

And then, parroting the same views that the consensus has here.

If you ever want to know how they will be able to pull off the next psyop - look no further folks

Pangolin Chow Mein's avatar

I stopped believing the legacy media after 9/11 and Iraq!! Basically you are admitting you believed the legacy media up until a few years ago…wtf???

SimulationCommander's avatar

They threw in the 'border security' and the 'countering fentanyl' cash just so it would be easier to raise public support for the billions and billions getting blown up overseas. Disgusting.

Pangolin Chow Mein's avatar

You do realize fentanyl deaths went up every year in Trump’s term—he couldn’t stop it and neither can Biden. Just remember under Reagan that the crack epidemic raged but according to Republicans it was still “morning in America”.

Mr Schachtel, I'm sorry to say you seem to have attracted either a bot or a spammer under the name "Clarence Wilhelm Spangle". He has shown up on many stacks ever since Hamas attack on israeli civilians, and posts links to the NMR, Nordiska Motståndsrörelsen (Nordic Resistance Movement), an actual neo-nazi organisation consisting of some 200 swedes.

The NMR is reviled by all here in Sweden, and do not in any way represent any swedes, nor have they any kind of support.

They are however actual real-deal nazis.

As a swede, I feel obligated to inform you and fellow readers of your and other stacks about who and what this person represents so that you can make your own informed decision despite any language barrier.

Personally, it sickens and shames me to see my nation, people and cultural heritage associated with nazi filth.

The NMR never, ever, try to go up against migrant gangs, or actually do anything much more than hold the odd protest meeting under heavy police guard, including mounte riot police and police armed with submachineguns and live ammunition - they are that hated by many.

They are a tiny clique, thoroughly infiltrated by police agents for years, and are politically non-existant but it pains me to think that foreigners unable to read swedish documents or papers would think they are an actual movement of any kind.

Like the analysis. This lets me know how terrible our congress is to even contemplate this ridiculous excuse for a funding request. No money to Gaza for anything. Let the Red Cross help. Israel obviously is a yes.

rowantree's avatar

Why is Israel obviously a yes again? Oh yeah... an old book said we need to support God's chosen people for all time and whaddya know, they happen to be the authors of that old book! So of course foreign aid bad unless it goes to the country we are told to like that week or the country that has religious significance to you.

Andrea L Kosar's avatar

Or, perhaps, the only democracy in the region? Our only ally? A country we helped to create, probably so we ( and England) wouldn’t have to take in the Jews displaced by WW2.

# endjewhate .

rowantree's avatar

I don't hate Jews or anyone. But the way we helped create Israel involved displacing the Palestinians and they are being oppressed by both Israel and Mossad-created Hamas. Much of what happens in the Middle East is because of American war mongering and playing both sides in order to enrich our government and obtain resources. So getting involved is unlikely to help Israelis, Palestinians, Americans, or anyone except for corrupt corporations and politicians.

Billy G's avatar

democracy! that's a f*cking joke. As far as allies go, they have done more damage through espionage on their ally than any enemy. And speaking of allies, you know, we never had so many in the middle east hate the US until we had such a great ally in israel. I find that if you don't know history, and I'm not talking just about middle east, but how Israel came to be and why the Ukraine, run by ashkanzi jews, the same people that rule Israel, have a mortal hatred for old Russia you won't have a clue.

Interesting how we haven't heard anything from Red Cross (or Red Crescent or Red Mogen David, whatever) about the hostages. Isn't that what they do?

Time to tell the Resident that funds he did not earn are now off limits. Like when my father died, I told my brother, “The Bank of Daddy is now closed.”

Sad that like so many in recent weeks, Jordan has been pulling for more parking lots in an open-air prison where innocent humans trying to escape are bombed and shot.

The good news is that once the mask is off, Shaprio Style, it's off.

Maddy Pace's avatar

Military Complex know Urkaine is a lost cause so they start the war with Israel and Hamas! More money to launder into the hands of corrupt government officials!! No way is Biden giving money for border security!

It’s 1968 all over again. LBJ, guns and butter. The more things change the more they stay the same. You young people better wise up because it’s your butts that will be on the menu.

Jordan

You are not helping Israel.

As for Ukraine...

.... Jordan...

the neocons aren’t Arabs Jordan.

Israel needs to cut loose of 🇺🇸or die.

For example Israel only needs missile defense because America has pressured Israel into giving up the land in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank they’re being attacked from...

that land was taken by war and given back under American pressure.

The alliance only made Cold War sense and should have ended in 91.

The US Israeli alliance like all our long overripe and rotting alliances are now mutually toxic to both parties.

It would be better to end it.

If not 🇺🇸most assuredly will betray 🇮🇱 to Doom.

My only interest is America must stop betraying sometime, since DC can’t it seems stop betraying Americans perhaps DC can start overseas.

the long warred's avatar

Having said that; Biden lands in Israel and asks for $61 Billion for Ukraine 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Rikard's avatar

$ 61 000 000 000. If 1/10 of that actually makes it to the intended target, it's amazing.

But I guess we got to allow 10% for the Big Guy.

Ullie's avatar

Great article. It is such a shame how much money, how many billions are being wasted abroad, whilst the own citizens are suffering. How do you call it when your taxes are being spent to support your enemies? Isnt that treason?

John Kenney's avatar

"American taxpayers should not be subsidizing the welfare of non-Americans."~ibid

I couldn't agree more! We should start with the billions we squander each year propping up the Zionist State!

I will never fully trust Putin or any other politician in a country that has a central bank. Why should be obvious, so I wont go into that. He worked his way up to the top of the KGB in the USSR, not a small feat, and not for the weak minded.

Putin is not the real boogeyman in all of this, just the current fall guy. "I have looked for the enemy and have finally found him in the mirror". We have allowed this over the years by our lack of understanding of what goes on around us. Our collective ignorance is tacit approval.

the long warred's avatar

Coming soon; Biden visits El Paso Texas and says more $$$ to defend Ukraine 🤣🤣

In fairness so did Bush 43 🤣 (well, Iraq not Ukraine).

Kevin Beck's avatar

The only thing I can say, short of profanity, is, "This is sick!"

And when sickness goes beyond to at-death's-door, then a good solution would be to do some triage.

First: Ukraine is unwinnable. It's so unwinnable that victory isn't even defined by the Biden regime! So any spending there needs to vanish.

Second is the issue of "humanitarian aid" to Gaza. Well, even though I deplore slush funds, here we can create one, with an absolute cap. Maybe about $50 million. And the payments come only after they show us receipts for their expenses. There's zero reason to help fund our opponents in a war against us.

Third is the direct subsidy department. These programs that call for our allies to buy war materiel from our domestic war production industry are...bizarre. We have the government giving a blank check to companies like Lockheed and Northrop to keep our allies on our side? Whatalottahooey!
