Did he not also lie to the arresting DUI officer, claiming to be hard of hearing? I believe he and Kamala are lying now to attempt to appear moderate. Future behavior is predicted by past behavior. Shape shifters comes to mind!

Probably has the same stuttering problem Biden has battled “all his life,” too despite we heartless people never noticing it for Biden’s 1st 49 years in public office.

He's a slippery figure. Very glad you posted this. When he lashed out at people who questioned his military record accusing them of disrespecting those who served that was the definition of a slimy manipulator. I really hope he gets publicly shamed from both sides of the aisle but I won't hold my breath.

I detest his policies. The fact that he's a liar just reinforces my belief that he's dangerous to America and no one should vote for him

The constant inflation of his personal importance suggests an internal emptiness that he desperately needs to fill.

It's not a coincidence that the feature presentations of this system are the best and most prodigious liars. Lying is a prerequisite. Especially the pathological ones. Some are better at it than others. And lauded as "exceptionally good" when they by-and-large get away with it.

A Blizzard of Lies, by William Safire

New York Times, January 8, 1996

"Americans of all political persuasions are coming to the sad realization that our First Lady -- a woman of undoubted talents who was a role model for many in her generation -- is a congenital liar."

""Clinton's an unusually good liar. Unusually good. Do you realize that?"

--Sen. Bob Kerrey (D-Neb.), in a 1995 interview"

"Hillary's name came up in the article merely to contrast her inability to use deception skillfully with her husband's artful lying. But practice makes perfect. After serving for four years as secretary of state, Hillary may not be as good a liar as Bill, but she's no slouch, either."

"An Exceptionally Bad Liar"

"Calling someone a liar is a serious accusation. This is why, aside from the unwritten contract allowing for mutual prevarication, politicians are so reluctant to do it."

"“It is always the best policy to speak the truth, unless, of course, you are an exceptionally good liar." ― Jerome K. Jerome

Lying is actually an art form, celebrated by the universe of politicians and campaign consultants. The consultants are comrades in arms, practitioners of deceit, who have awards ceremonies after each campaign season recognizing their most accomplished political campaigns of deceit, back-slapping, glass-clinking good times amongst "foes." Some awards for political campaigns even nicknamed "best diversionary campaign" for efforts that divert national funds from otherwise more productive campaigns. True story.

Lying is ethical! Under Utilitarian Ethics systems that government officials universally subscribe to. They will sometimes even declare a democide/genocide/iatrocide they commit as being "ethical." Mass murder "for a greater good" is even considered 'humanitarian' - but requires liars. Preferably good liars. But anyone willing to lie audaciously enough to pull it off will do:

Obviously he's never been held up to so much scrutiny before. Learning when NOT to lie is just as important as lying. Was it necessary to lie about what kind of spice tolerance he has? Really? And what was the purpose of the fake JD Vance/ couch story? My god, what kind of twisted mind would use this to further his campaign?? Never lie when the truth is readily available and plausible deniability is not. His most glaring lie is his entire phony persona: neighborly, ethical, strong yet kind-hearted, with sensible American midwest values. In reality, he's a hard, steely, authoritarian, a corrupt, power hungry tyrant with politically communist beliefs and radically marxist societal ideologies. There's nothing sensible or American about this unsettling fraud. He won't make it to election day without stomping on an IED of his own making.

Here's a glowing example of the biggest liars in politics are celebrated for getting away with their biggest lies. John McCain:

- 2016 hammered his opponent for supporting Obamacare, promise to repeal it.

- 2017 gave "big thumbs down" to repeal of Obamacare.

- 2018 euglogized as the best type of "statesman" there is in politics, "courageous" to do the exact opposite thing of what was his biggest promise to his voters.

The biggest, most audacious liars are lauded for lying. Celebrated, esteemed, held up as models for all aspiring politicians to follow. This is how DC and US politics works in our time.

I gotta hand it to the Dems though, they are very very good orators (especially Queen Hillary) as witnessed by the literal tears streaming down people's faces. Some of the audience are old enough to know we've heard this drivel for 40 years. And here's where the Republicans have to own up: You have your own share of liars and I've heard the same drivel from them. I'm not wasting my vote on a repeat performance from any one of them.

The primary reason I’m 💯 Trump is that DC is now one big UniParty cesspool. It has always been a corrupt cesspool but at least 25 years ago, the Ds & the Rs at least tried (or appeared) to think &/or vote differently. Now the GOP doesn’t even hide that they’re corrupt, BigGov endless-war cowardly liberals.

I would not be surprised if they worked on Tim Walz.

In fact, all of those businessmen who now make frequent trips to China may be getting more than they know or bargained for.

The Governor General of Canada spent too much time there, and was left babbling like a 14 yr. old in love about how much he admired the CCP Chinese. This, from a senior statesman and former University Chancellor. So Tim Walz didn't stand a chance if they decided to work on him.

Any intelligent citizen who does even a tiny bit of research knows what a monumental evil thinking shallow type Walz actually is….the sort you hope your kids never grow up to be! What in God’s name therefore, makes a “normal” person that truly loves their country consider supporting this despicable representative of a once respectable political party???

Walz will say that he served as Command Sergeant Major, because he did serve as Command Sergeant Major, as the Minnesota National Guard has said is appropriate. He had a conditional promotion that preceded 750 hours of additional training he would have needed to retain the rank, but then he retired before doing so. These are entirely mundane occurrences.

It's true that his family used IUI, not IVF. It's certainly possible that Walz was lying here, though it's also possible that Walz just didn't know that the difference in these fertility clinics would matter to the audiences he was speaking to. Conservatives care very much about the difference (only one of them risks destroying embryos) but to liberals, you have to remember, the difference doesn't matter to us at all. An analogy: If I happen to be in a conversation where colon cancer is mentioned, I might mention that I'm currently in treatment for colon cancer. Technically this isn't true: Actually, I'm being treated for rectal cancer. The rectum is indeed part of the colon, but "colon cancer" confusingly only refers to tumors in other parts of the colon--but that's a distinction most people aren't going to care about.

It's possible that Walz is indeed a liar and narcissist, but out of the first two examples I happened to fact check, both have failed to show this. I'm not inclined to fact check the rest. I think it's likely that this post, as well as the many comments on this post slamming us Democrats as all being liars, are being driven by ideological bias and emotional reasoning.

Responding to the commenters here: I do NOT believe all conservatives are liars. I don't even believe that all conservative politicians are liars.

His pathological lying reminds me of one of my dad's former co-workers. This was someone who was always proclaiming his and his wife's business successes, when every detail was a lie. After he was terminated from the job he worked alongside my dad, he was bankrupt within 6 months. He had an amazing habit of lying about his assets and wealth, too. When the bankruptcy court found out about those lies, he wasn't given a reprieve; he was given a jail sentence.
