At some point some of these people will have to answer for their decisions and give accounts (rather than just being embarrassed ion Twitter or losing a job). Unfortunately, we won't believe their answers when they come. These people have proven that courage and honesty mean nothing to them. They will say or do nearly anything to order to protect their organizations and careers, and to protect their privilege and status. When some of them withdraw from their incestuous and gatekept little world of 'policymakers' and begin to offer sincere information, at no appreciable advantage to themselves or their narratives... THEN perhaps I will believe them.
The only thing I want to hear right now is, "I'm sorry."
