IMHO the WSJ has become almost unreadable. I cancelled my subscription after more than 25 years. Every other article before the election was Trump bashing or an expose on Elon Musk's addiction. The latest editor (about 3 yrs ago) is from the UK and her choices stink. The real eyeopener was reading the comments! I thought I was reading the New York Times. I will support controversy but always presenting one side (negative) to me is lies by omission
I had an AI writer make a response to an article I did on AI writing. His response came minutes after reading my article. I know this because he left some comments one of them being he "wrote" a response just for me. It was a long article that tested 100% AI written. My comment to him was something like, "Don't fool yourself, you didn't write this."

The Journal stabbed itself in the face years ago when it began adding opinion and speculation to what was once a bastion of clean presentation of stark data.
As a somewhat informed consumer I’m not sure I give a 💩about the A.I. or the buy back strategy. Didnt YODA start this practice and it worked..IMO much ado about nothing..
If it says exactly what you want, who cares. Now a 100% AI isn’t likely to do that. But help from AI on well directed thought should be fine. (This is not AI generated by the way)
I hear you, but if it conveys the intended message isn’t that what it is about? I’ve used AI in writing and it still may take 10-20 turns to get it right to convey what I want. I use it like an editor. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn’t depending on what I have in mind.
Maybe just write down the ideas yourself, then it won't take 10-20 tries to get it right.

Disgusting. If you're a writer, you write. Your own words. Your own thoughts. Your own experiences.
"Everybody else is doing it" isn't a great excuse -- especially when your entire industry is in free fall and being taken over by AI slop articles!
At least the "media" finally acknowledges just how completely irrelevant they have become.

I've been seeing this argument a lot from AI writers. Just convey the idea yourself. You're outsourcing your intellect and creativity to a machine.
It can't possibly say "exactly what you want". If it were "exactly" what he wanted, why not just type it out?
