This country was founded on the libertarian belief that YOU own your own life; the government does NOT own it. Therefore, you have the right to do anything you want with your life SO LONG AS a you do NOT inflict force or fraud on anyone else. All of our government should stem from this basic principle.
So we need a small legislature to enact common-sense laws such as тАШit is illegal to break into someone elseтАЩs home and steal their stuffтАЩ - laws that prevent some people from harming others. And we need a trustworthy police force and courts to enforce these laws, to protect citizens from force and fraud. And we need a competent but not bloated national defense system to prevent other military powers from invading us and inflicting theft and harm. But thatтАЩs pretty much it! ThatтАЩs all we need in the way of government. All other services can be most efficiently provided by private companies, who realize that if they donтАЩt do a good job they will lose their customers to another company who will do a good job. WouldnтАЩt it be great to live in a FREE country!
