Easy to agree with you. As someone from the old school left who was forced to join in the battle - and found pretty much nobody at all from my "side" standing with me - I'd welcome any and all thoughts on how to begin to unravel at least some parts of the partisan divide. To get back onto some of the common ground. It was basic principle…

To get back onto some of the common ground. It was basic principle that brought me here. Isn't there something we can work with?
bugyefly, I feel the pain, too. My husband and I do our best to maintain civil relations with our family, friends, and work-related folks who have chosen to bury their heads in the sand and refuse to question the scripted narrative. In some cases, it means limiting the length of communication; in others, it means verbally taking the "I don't disclose personal medical information" stance. Scope of communication is important, too. For example, I don't discuss CV-19 with my in-home students and clients unless they bring it up. Out in the community, it's obvious that I don't wear a face mask but less obvious as to "why." I have been refused entry at a couple of stores for refusing to muzzle up. These places, mostly big-box stores, are following a Satanic agenda, whether or not the employees realize it. It's hard to reason with people who have no idea the damage they are doing to real people and society, but I have not become belligerent or angry. That all said, I think your genuine concern for finding common ground is a great place to start and will help you realize ways to enact that principle!
Thanks for the reply, much appreciated. I will keep doing what I'm doing! And I will tell the truth given the least opportunity (I admit I am starting to manufacture those opportunities where I can).
Agreed. Corporate power leapt in behind its blue puppet and will revert to the red puppet if circumstances demand it. Was obvious this was happening before the election. I don't like Trump but the idea of cheering Biden was nauseating.

In terms if party there is no Divide. There is one party and its controlled opposition.
