Yeah, the preschool-like "zones" were introduced after 9/11 as a simple, effective psychological tool of control. The controllers couldn't come up with something better because they lack human creativity, so they just use all the stuff from the same old playbook that has been its bible for millennia. Etienne de La Boetie, in his book The Politics of Obedience, writes about tyrants and control in centuries past. Not much has changed but the slickness of technology.
