Anthropic vs Pentagon is going to be interesting. A wants a bare minimum of safeguards-no killer robots and no mass surveillance. P objects which makes me think the problem is people not AI. At any rate, AI is coming no matter what we do about guardrails, so we had better figure out how to live with it.
Thanks for another interesting article. Keep bringing this topic to peoples attention. I think a lot of people don't realize what is really happening in the AI space. I am empathetic to the doomer faction, we should stop where we are at the very least because I don't believe we are a people capable of using this technology for a net good. But I also know there is no putting this genie back in its bottle. Its here to stay and it will only become more invasive and integrate more and more into our lives. Its no longer a question of whether we think its a good idea or not its a question of whether we can protect ourselves or not, or perhaps go on the offensive somehow. Individuals need to be vigilant.
