I agree that we’d be committing valuable resources to a sinking ship. We need to put the bad dogs completely down through a Convention of States, for which they’re gaining support, and restore the republic. Then leadership from the likes of a DeSantis can be effective.
A convention of states sounds really risky. We could end up with a Red Flag Amendment, a Social Justice Amendment, an Assault Rifle Ban Amendment and an Environmental Justice Amendment.
Apparently you aren’t up to speed on how the Convention of States works. First, the agenda must be defined before a convention can be called. No other topics can be addressed under that called convention (that is, new topics require the whole process again from scratch). The current proposed COS has only 3 agenda items—balanced budget, term limits for Congress, and limiting federal government overreach (I think). They cannot deal with guns or oil or abortion or ANY other topic other than those defined when the convention was called.
States can send as many delegates as they choose to debate among themselves, but ultimately each state gets one vote. It takes agreement of 34 states legislative bodies to call a convention and 38 states to ratify any rulings the COS delegates propose. The same brilliant minds that created the Constitution included Article V. They must have done so while looking into a 2021-22 crystal ball. The need for a COS could not be more relevant or necessary, seeing today’s abuses of power. It is far, FAR less dangerous than the corrupt renegades in power right now. In fact, it is the last Constitutional line of defense.
so tell me how did that work out for the Articles of Confederation. The COS had a mandate to amend them not replace them with an entirely new form of government. Think again about convening a COS.
Excuse me, but you have two things confused. I’ve already done my “thinking again,” with enough research to determine your position is simply not true. If you are a truly a defender of the Constitution, you can’t just “throw out’ Article V, which is just as relevant and needed as is the rest of the founding document. COS has zero to do with creating a new form of government. It’s about exercising the provision of the one that has existed since it’s inception. You’re fearing your own self-created boogie men, when none exists.
Apparently you've failed to observe just how radically the left has been twisting the rule of law over the past two decades. We cannot be assured a valid election right now, and you think a COS would fair as well? Sorry, right now we need a strong hand at the rudder before we enter the rapids.
A convention of states would not be managed by anyone in the federal government, but by the states themselves. Delegates are chosen by the state legislatures. With the required 38 states to approve any of the already designated amendments, it’s highly unlikely anything negative could be achieved. Our founders were brilliant in constructing Article V. As an American, at risk of losing your freedoms under the current state of affairs, I’d suggest you get to know your country’s Constitution; it’s all that separates us from communism. Then, please spread the word.
Even desantis is an authoritarian who ignores the constitution. These right wingers pretend to be pro freedom but are just like the left, pro corporate freedom.
You can't change history. You can only learn from it and put policies in place to prevent it from repeating itself. Gonna be tough but it's got to be done. Otherwise our amazing country is f'ed.
We had an extensive exchange about this in the comments at my “Letter to Governor Ron DeSantis” (https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/letter-to-governor-ron-desantis?s=w), and I was told DeSantis has said he does not want to run because he can accomplish far more as a governor than he can as president due to the rampant corruption in Washington. I can’t say I disagree with this statement, as much as I’d love to vote for him as president (a DeSantis-Gabbard ticket would be mind-blowing).
That said, Elon Musk just endorsed DeSantis for 2024, so if he changes his mind, that’s a pretty big endorsement to have in his pocket:
He may be better at controlling the swamp than Trump was. Trump thought that by approving their huge budgets, he might buy some loyalty. He did that for four years.
With all of that being said, I would support either of them over any Democrat.
There would be NOTHING to gain by Trump and DeSantis being pitted against each other. DeSantis needs to be Trump’s VP as a safety net for Trump, ‘s health, given his age and the huge physical and mental demands on a President. If Trump successfully (and in good health) completes his four years, DeSantis would have those VP four years to get his Washington sea legs and 8 years to govern the country. We need at least 12 years to clean up the Obama/Biden/Clinton mess.
No, I don’t support any politicians. I give them credit when they demonstrate integrity and courage as Ron DeSantis and Ron Johnson have done, as has Tulsi, and I critique them when deserved. I don’t trust any of them completely and think people need to stop putting their faith in politicians and instead realize we hold the power of noncompliance in our hands and need to exercise it so the politicians can remember they’re public servants and not our masters.
Just remember that Gabbard was a student of the Klaus Schwab WEF young leaders school. She would have to publicly apologize for that and distance herself from that organization before I would fully trust her.
Wouldn’t it? It would detonate the left–right paradigm in one fell swoop and put the freedom–authoritarian replacement (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZWG3PklCRME) in the spotlight instead.
Gabbard ! You got to be kidding! During her campaign days she worked hand in hand with the Socialist Party USA and the Communist Party USA. Do a little research about her past.
Just as 2021 Robert Malone is a very different creature from 2022 Malone, so is 2022 Tulsi. She passionately condemns authoritarianism, censorship, and all of the standard practices of communist regimes. I agree I would like to see her call them out by name, but she clearly positioned herself on the side of freedom/anti-totalitarianism in her CPAC speech (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbXBGblgBW0) as well as all of her other public statements on matters like free speech and “misinformation,” and she has taken a brutal beating in the media and by the Democrats (and Republicons like Romney) for doing so.
Like I’ve said elsewhere, I think she has some bad takes, but it is also clear she is open to reason, debate, and open dialogue and could conceivably be persuaded to change her position if logic, freedom, and truth demand it.
There are plenty of others out there that a few short years ago weren't rocking out with the communists and socialist parties of America. Wake up people. Get a grip on reality and realize that talk is talk, and action is action. Don't rely on talk alone, people need a history of action you can depend on. This is exactly how you end up with Dr. Oz. Because Trump is a complete moron.
Id love to see Ron Jonson run also. And about Tulsi, (and yes I could do much more learning about her, and about democratic socialism), but I'm from the far left, or was before they became authoritarians who don't see that pharma controlling laws and forcing itself inside our bodies (and carving up children in the name of "gender affirmation"), are monsterous incarnations of what I thought the left was against. There are other lefties who see medical freedom as the most important thing .. Toby Rogers, Diane Perlman, Del Bigtree, Steve Kirsch ... (Yet rising above left/right is better than just changing sides) ..
Tulsi seems to have a conscience (I could be wrong), and is braver and deeper than Bernie.
The media would have a hard time (but they'd still try of course), painting a ticket with Tulsi as "far right MAGA". And instilling the fear of Trump-like "far right MAGA" is a critical election strategy for the Dems.
(But, yes Tulsi's connections with WEF are suspicious .. but I don't know how wide that net is and if there are other layers of power and differences between everyone connected to WEF. I love van Meijeren's confrontation. Yes, we need leaders like that!
I don’t think a Democrat VP would go over very well. I certainly wouldn’t vot that ticket. Besides, unless Trump gets sick or does something really bonkers, nobody is going to beat him in the primaries. DeSantis needs to be Trump’s VP pick.
Trump *has* done something bonkers. He has doubled and tripled down on taking credit for being the Savior of the World for Operation Warp Speed and continually praises the vaxxes, shuts down anyone trying to discuss vaxx injuries/deaths, and lives in a state of either unbelievable denial or shameless lying. He is owned by Pfizer and the rest of the pharmaceutical-medical complex (https://www.spectrumnews.org/news/health-companies-gave-generously-president-trumps-inauguration/). He’s lost more than half his base with his pro-vaxx stance, and you know he’s doing something wrong when CNN is praising him for taking on the anti-vaxxers:
Hogwash. Yes, Trump is wrong about the vaccines, and he is wrong about supporting McCarthy, and Dr. Oz. I’m sure he’s wrong about other things, too, plus his ego is over the top. So what? You can say that about 90% of Washington. But none of those things has significantly weakened Trump’s base. He most certainly has NOT lost half his supporters. The numbers I’ve seen look like they are growing to me.
it's his MAGA-agenda that resonates with many and which is closely linked to populist movements in many other parts of the world, as in France's Yellow Vests and the various Truckers Convoys. HONK HONK
Fair enough, but the defining issue of the next election will likely be medical freedom, so if he doesn’t do a massive mea culpa and start acknowledging the injections are dangerous, he is going to take a ginormous hit at the voting booth (provided the votes are counted fairly, which is a big ask).
Yep. Owning the vaccine debacle is critical for Trump, not only admitting it’s was a colossal failure but also distancing himself from those “experts” who I’ll advised him. He can be excused for being duped like we all were, but only if he admits the truth. As I see it, Trump has four big negatives to overcome; (1) having no discernment when it comes to people he can trust and naively thinking federal politics are anywhere similar to corporate politics, (2) untethering himself to the Covid vaccine, debacle, (3) being realistic about his age (Biden, Feinstein, and Pelosi have highlighted a need for an age limit), and (4) an ego that borders on clinical narcissism. Of course, 3&4 apply to half or more of everybody in office in Washington.
Warp speed good, dead Americans bad. Unethical pharma bad. Trump doesn’t distinguish / thread that needle, a giant misstep. Gargantuan misstep. Kinda stupid actually. Which technically is not Trump. Trump is smart as a whip and he knows all this, so stuck in wait and see mode….and yes, I’d take Trump 110%, yet DeSantis needs to run…it’s a flex, all the best candidates….run.
That would be brilliant if she did ;-) Seriously, though, that is my #1 question for her when I have the opportunity to ask. I do believe she was part of it during a time when scarcely anyone was aware of its sinister intentions and she naïvely thought it was an honor to be a YGL. And I think she defected from whatever plans they had for her when she went rogue on the DNC in 2016, hence her subsequent unpersoning/smearing. I discuss her in more detail in this comment:
why hasn't she explained to us (and you) her come to jesus concerning swab and company? you admire gabbard because she is a female and are willing to reach across the isle for that reason only. nothing more.
I agree the WEF is an extremely important issue for her to address and why it is my number-one question for her.
What does her being a female have anything to do with it? When I listed the only five politicians I could think of who have demonstrated any integrity, she was the only female on my list.
She is doing a lot more than reaching across the aisle. She is calling out the existential threat posed to free speech and the Bill of Rights by the administration, cancel culture, the left, and all who would enshrine the government as a secular religion with the authority to determine what is “misinformation” versus “truth.” Have you watched her CPAC speech?
I don’t agree with all of her positions and have a lot of questions I need her to answer, but she is loudly on the side of pro-freedom/anti-tyranny in a way that few politicians are these days.
😆 Think what you like, Donald. You’ve obviously got a whole pack of unsubstantiated assumptions about me, and nothing I say is going to change your mind.
If you do care to engage in a civil dialogue instead of hurling ad hominem attacks, however, I will say I love how Lake owns the media in her interviews and probably would consider adding her to my list based on her ability to expose the propaganda and control the debate.
I like a lot of things Boebert has said, but she feels a bit like the right-wing version of AOC, and the commercials of her walking while talking to the camera just make me cringe in embarrassment. I think she has potential, though, so I look forward to seeing how she evolves as she matures.
Greene has said a lot of good things, too, but I still remember when she promised to start impeachment proceedings against Biden as soon as he got into office. What happened to that?
Don’t be greedy! For the sake of all Americans, let DeSantis give it a go. I agree that our federal institutions our hopelessly infiltrated and dirty, but I believe it would be better to have them ruled over by DeSantis instead of a RINO or another corrupt Democrat.
Okay that's fine. But one thing you must keep in mind. In DC the president is run by lower tier powers that control all the strings in the country. This was Trump's mistake, he thought he would run things like a large corporation. Since governors don't have that problem exactly, what would be even better is if you could get a dozen or two governors like DeSantis in office. These states could then override even Congress.
That's a very long stretch I know, but presidents cannot do very much and if they do the establishment will occupy them with all types of time wasting nonsense, as we saw with Trump, that's why nothing gets done. Even a substantial amount of Republicans fought him. You see DC is so corrupt it's not a swamp but an ocean. This is why politics will do nothing for us, Trump (I have too mention I predicted this) was only a speed bump, he kept Hillary out, that's it.
Therefore, the only way to get our country back is to let it crash and burn and start over. Probably split in half along past division lines with other states joining where they think they fit.
Nations on averages last about 370 years, ours is long in the tooth. Republics in particular always fall because of the built-in corruption of the representative.
I think before this century ends we will have at least two America's, perhaps more. At this point, it's been building for years, we will never see eye to eye. We used to get along just fine, but those days are long gone. There is no going back.
Just as WW II was the natural and inevitable result of the Versailles Treaty, a new Civil War in the United States, with patriots supporting States' rights instead of the corrrupt corporations and power brokers who control Washington, DC, is the only way our Republic can be saved from Marxism and anarchy.
We have been programmed to believe the American Civil War was staged to free the slaves. The reality (nullification and the domination of the South by Federal regulations issued from a government controlled by the industrial North and the abolitionists) forced the people of South Carolina (and ultimately 13 southern states) to rebel against tyranny and taxation without representation). History always repeats itself. We will either become a copy of Hitler's 3rd Reich or there will be an uprising to dethrone the illegitimate and criminal elements that control the United States in 2022.
Slavery was slowly phasing out anyway; because with machines able to accomplish more and work faster, it was becoming more and more economically unreasonable to continue maintaining food, shelter, and clothing year round for humans. Lincoln used the slavery issue to invoke an emotional response to garner support for the war. But Southern states rose up, not because of slavery per se, but because that issue was outside the constitutional authority of the federal government. The fight was really over state’s rights. It’s the same issue about abortion and gun control and gay marriage, etc. These issue belong to the jurisdiction of the states, not the feds. That is the basis for the overturning of Roe v Wade. The federal government doesn’t have the authority to have made such a law in the first place.
Averages are the midpoint between much higher and much lower numbers. There is zero reason to assume the US couldn’t fall at any point along the continuum. Therefore, that “average”number is completely irrelevant.
"How could we forget that just a handful of years ago, the U.S. Intelligence Community — which is supposed to be commanded under the direction of POTUS — made it its mission to depose Donald Trump via a series of elaborate coup attempts."
Doesn't this tell us all that it doesn't matter who sits in the White House? The total of our government is run by puppet masters like Blackrock, State St., Vanguard, the City of London and the CEOs of other mega-corporations. We need to stop paying attention to R -v- D and realize that the only way we will survive in the future is to divorce ourselves from the sham political system that gives us (courtesy of TPTB) the false illusion of choice. The only choice we have is among chosen candidates that will do the will of the puppet masters. That is not choice; that is the illusion of choice. Ron DeSanits is better off in FL, where he might still be able to do some good. He would be thoroughly undermined, as Trump was, if he entered the White House.
Well that may be true to a point. But there is no denying how much Trump got done for good, in spite of the corruption all around him. The presidency isn’t impotent unless the man holding the office is himself impotent. We still need integrity at the top.
He is great at handling the smear merchants, but if he runs for president, the regime is going to throw everything they got in order to undermine him. As Florida’s governor, he has done so much to further the cause of freedom. He should stay.
Exactly. Instead of putting people in Washington to give power back to the states, the states need to be the ones to challenge the federal government and take back the power guaranteed them by the Constitution.
Absolutely, we need Governor DeSantis to remain in Florida. His last election was a squeaker and, perhaps, now we know why given the revelations of 2020 “voting.” We must secure our state elections and continue to be a prime example in all other matters for the rest of the country.
First, DeSantis is the ONLY politician in this country with the same qualities as FDR. He SOLVES PROBLEMS, while all other politicians CREATE PROBLEMS. DeSantis would NOT be the same as Trump, because Trump is a total faker. Everything Trump did was perfectly in line with Deepstate's commands. DeSantis has undergone trial by fire and has proved he's real.
The bottom-up argument also has force. DeSantis showed other governors that it was POSSIBLE to resist the federal monster if you have GUTS. Most of Dixie is free now because those governors observed and learned how to use GUTS.
The question is whether any governors outside Dixie are human. It looks to me like the GUTS-power has spread about as far as it can go, with firm resistance from the demons ruling the coasts. In that case it would be better to have a problem-solver in the presidency.
While Tennessee’s Governor Lee intentionally flies under the radar, he has ushered through many similar laws as DeSantis and quietly told the feds to shove off. As far as I know, Tennessee is the only state to make Ivermectin not only available, but available without a prescription…as it should be. It’s one of the safest drugs on the market. CRT can’t be taught in public schools in Tennessee. DeSantis has established no trans sexual or gay teaching in grades K-3…Lee’s anti-sexual deviancy teaching legislation applies to K-12. Tennessee has authorized Hillsdale to set up like 60 charter schools in the state. Lots of good things happening in Tennessee.
The population of Florida is 21 million. The population of the U.S. is 330 million. If DeSantis has the chance to 15x his influence he should. OR Florida should split off and become its own separate country and encourage other states to do the same. The status quo nationwide is unsustainable.
Of course the MSM will do their best to make it seem like anyone not Democrat who doesn't ravenously hate Trump is a clone of Trump.

Damn shame if he doesn't run.
DeSantis: "Get the clot shots if you want. They will not be mandated in Florida."
Trump: "My tremendous operation warp speed was such a fabulous success. It was so great maiming and killing Americans for Big Pharma."
😆💯
I think Unbekoming summed up Trump brilliantly in this paragraph:
“I don’t like writing about Trump. What is there to say really? He got played like a fiddle and still believes the horseshit he was fed. If he doesn’t believe it, then it’s even worse.” (https://unbekoming.substack.com/p/the-unbekoming-express-edition-4?s=r)
Like him or hate him, he had the economy running like a clock. That was probably his biggest strength.
DeSantis could do the same, with much less drama, and no Omarosa's.
He may be better at controlling the swamp than Trump was. Trump thought that by approving their huge budgets, he might buy some loyalty. He did that for four years.
With all of that being said, I would support either of them over any Democrat.
So don't let the door...
Excellent point that still bothers me about Trump. He will not admit he was wrong.
well.....everything is fine now that he is gone. oh wait. silly rabbit.
Bingo.
It's DJT's time now.
Get over it.
DeSantis can have a go in 2028.

DeSantis-Gabbard? YES! Not that I have much faith in politics, but that would be AWESOME.
I don't trust Gabbard. She grew up in a cult, she would support "common sense gun control" and she's a member of The Council on Foreign Relations.

have i got this correct...you support gabbard?
No, I don’t support any politicians. I give them credit when they demonstrate integrity and courage as Ron DeSantis and Ron Johnson have done, as has Tulsi, and I critique them when deserved. And she co-sponsored a bill to look into paying reparations.
🤦♀️
Good god, people never learn. Gabbard is more normal than most, but she is still a liberal and she will always push liberal policies.
Just remember that Gabbard was a student of the Klaus Schwab WEF young leaders school. She would have to publicly apologize for that and distance herself from that organization before I would fully trust her.
Agreed.

OH, HELL NO!
Gabbard is a WEF Young Global Leader. You think she infiltrated them?
That would be brilliant if she did ;-) Seriously, though, that is my #1 question for her when I have the opportunity to ask. I do believe she was part of it during a time when scarcely anyone was aware of its sinister intentions and she naïvely thought it was an honor to be a YGL. And I think she defected from whatever plans they had for her when she went rogue on the DNC in 2016, hence her subsequent unpersoning/smearing. I discuss her in more detail in this comment:
She grew up in a cult that she hasn't renounced. She is a member of The Council on Foreign Relations. She supports "common sense gun control".
exactly. margaret is transparent.
why hasn't she explained to us (and you) her come to jesus concerning swab and company? you admire gabbard because she is a female and are willing to reach across the isle for that reason only. nothing more.
She is calling out the existential threat posed to free speech and the Bill of Rights by the administration, cancel culture, the left, and all who would enshrine the government as a secular religion with the authority to determine what is “misinformation” versus “truth.” Have you watched her CPAC speech?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FbXBGblgBW0 (sample here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0oWaX1p3Q0c)
I don’t agree with all of her positions and have a lot of questions I need her to answer, but she is loudly on the side of pro-freedom/anti-tyranny in a way that few politicians are these days.
so boebert, greene and lake aren't your 'style? i call foul ball on you. you're a rino.
We need to encourage Desantis to develop a plan to neutralize the deep state. He did it here in FL
Waiting to see that in Broward County.
unfortunately Gabbard (and Fox' Bartiromo) is one of the WEF's Young Global Leaders http://nbatitlechase.com/2020/12/24/photo-tulsi-gabbard-is-a-member-of-young-global-leaders-and-knows-klaus-schwab/

Let’s see how Elon works out first. It’s a little early for this discussion and could be an intentional distraction.
Yeah, I certainly don’t trust Elon but know his endorsement would carry a lot of weight.
Musk too is mentioned, although through unverified sources, as one of the WEF's Young Global Leaders - https://web.archive.org/web/20150925063533/http://www.bloomberg.com/bw/stories/2008-03-17/young-global-leaders-anderson-cooper-and-leonardo-dicaprio-are-in-the-most-exclusive-private-social-network-in-the-world-dot

He liked Andrew Yang for Prez. Welfare for all! Oy.
I notice he prefers DeSantis over Trump. Interesante.
Sounds like a good reason to support Trump.
There are better reasons.
Musk is an enigmatic paradox. Captivating really.
Could also be the old divide and conquer gambit.
It is DJT's time
Period.
DeSantis and Gabbard? Nah! DeSantis and Masse! Now that'd rock the vote!
Don’t be greedy! For the sake of all Americans, let DeSantis give it a go. I agree that our federal institutions our hopelessly infiltrated and dirty, but I believe it would be better to have them ruled over by DeSantis instead of a RINO or another corrupt Democrat.
Nope.
It WILL BE TRUMP.
Will he bring back Omarosa, Cohen or Bolton? Give me a break.
There is no going back.
brilliant article explaining that many parts of the world, even the US, are still controlled by British Empire - https://matthewehret.substack.com/p/why-the-anglo-american-special-relationship?s=r
You don't need Ron DeSantis in the White House. You need 49 MORE Ron Desantises.
Exactly. Instead of putting people in Washington to give power back to the states, the states need to be the ones to challenge the federal government and take back the power guaranteed them by the Constitution.
Please read bailiwicknews.substack.com to understand the true depth of the problem.
Absolutely, we need Governor DeSantis to remain in Florida. His last election was a squeaker and, perhaps, now we know why given the revelations of 2020 “voting.” We must secure our state elections and continue to be a prime example in all other matters for the rest of the country.
Desantis for Vice President, and Trump for President
That ticket could not be beaten by anyone.
It won't happen but it is nice to think about.
I can see both sides.
Florida is in the perfect position to branch off from the rest of the country.
Maybe Pam Bondi could be governor while DeSantis goes to the WH?
Of course the MSM will do their best to make it seem like anyone not Democrat who doesn't ravenously hate Trump is a clone of Trump.

Fuck you, Guardian.
The Guardian has become so biased in favour of the establishment's narrative, that some of its former employees established the pleasantly critical OffGuardian - https://off-guardian.org/
Heck YES! 110% go baby go!! The world needs DeSantis yesterday!!
Nope.
It's DJT's time.
Totally agree! Love DeSantis, but we need good, strong governors too. He is a model for the rest of the GOP governor lot.
