Rest assured, the very same obedient tools who reflexively fell for and perpetuated the contrived and meaningless "Safe and Effective" shibboleth during the Plandemic will be at the ready to do it all over again.

On another level, the Left fears widespread adoption of A.I. by the masses because it threatens the Left's 5 decade-old effort to dumb down these same masses though the wholesale destruction of the education system, mass media and entertainment cannons of propaganda, along with a pathological cultural need to belong and conform to the tribe. Independent thought is heresy.

Now you have rethinking my objections to AI policy. I’d rather jump into volcano than be on the side of an issue as Crazy. Bernie and AOC how stupid.

Who the hell do these people think they are? Nobody has the ability to regulate this thing appropriately, nor should any person or government try. Bernie Sanders and AOC are useful idiots. I don't doubt they really believe they are looking out for peoples best interests. They have been chosen somehow or whatever crap they tell themselves. This is covid. This is probably worse than covid. I have no issue with local counties deciding to ban data centers. Data centers will come in and destroy farm land and take it from families probably by eminent domain if they have to. Now these data centers will be eyesores, take up the communities resources, and instead of hiring workers in the community they will bring in Indian H-1B visa holders who also suck at their job. This is really difficult because there is legitimate reasons to be against a lot of these data centers. But this type of legislation must be shot down with maximum prejudice.

Thank you for flagging this leftist power grab effort. That said, there seem to be legitimate reasons for local communities to reject AI data centers. As Robert Bryce writes in his substack:

"The backlash against data centers looks a lot like the fights against Big Wind, Big Solar, and Big Battery. People are concerned about their neighborhoods, property values, viewsheds, and noise. But the opposition to data centers also includes two other hot-button issues: soaring electricity prices and water availability. And speaking of hot buttons, a new study claims that data centers can create heat islands that raise nearby temperatures by an average of 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees F.)"

Bryce is not a Luddite. He writes thoughtfully about energy, particularly alternative energy sources, such as wind, solar and nuclear. He maintains rejection data bases for wind, solar and, now, AI data centers.
