On the surface it looks like we can't travel but if you read the fine print we can, as long as the destination will let you in without a vaccine. The problem is returning to NZ. We have to go into a military Covid camp for 2 weeks and we have to pay thousands for this.
It is difficult because I want to visit my mother in US but last I checked my unvaccinated Kiwi husband isn't allowed in. I am allowed in to US because I have a US passport. I'm afraid of being separated from my husband if the rules suddenly change again. Also afraid of not seeing my mother again. Many of the unvaccinated in NZ are traumatized. My child is not allowed into libraries, pools, sports, restaurants. I digress. People excluded from funerals and family holidays.

This is not correct. I am an unvaccinated permanent resident of New Zealand. I am absolutely able to leave, but will not be allowed back in here, to my home of 15 years where my wife and children live, if I do. It is the opposite problem I would have with my native Canada. I can enter Canada, but would then be forbidden to leave and rejoin my family.

I have to take another PCR test to fly on any flight to Auckland to connect to one. And then from Auckland you have a limited range of flights with the two main airlines, Air NZ & Qantas demanding jabs.
