Remember the chronology of Biden's "withdrawal": first he blindsides everyone by tweeting out his letter announcing his withdrawal. No mention of Harris.
Then about half an hour later, he tweets again endorsing Harris as his replacement.
I suspect Biden dropped that second tweet as revenge on the party bosses who forced him to withdraw. But for that tweet and Biden's endorsement, the Democrats were lined up for a blitz primary and possibly a brokered convention.
With that tweet everyone had to tread carefully for all the identitarian landmines and check boxes that put her in the VP slot in 2020. And so she skated through without an serious challenges.... until it was too late.
As someone from MI, and who spends a lot of time there still, I seriously don't get why people are so enamored with Gretchen Whitmer. She's awful, and honestly only won due to the blatant election rigging in the Detroit/Ann Arbor/Grand Rapids areas (the big-ish cities).
It was the same for Oregon. Absolutely horrible Kate Brown followed by Tina Kotek. Oregon is completely captured and has been a mail-in ballot state for decades.
Agree! I live in a suburb of Detroit and how anyone thinks Whitmer is presidential material is unbelievable. I am a woman, but the 3 women running Michigan (Whitmer, Nessel & Benson) are taking their marching orders from the "deep state". Whitmer is especially close to Alex Soros and that in itself should deny her any political capital. The fact that they are bankrolling with our tax dollars a Chinese company (Gotion) to build in Michigan is another black mark. The 2020 election w/the vans of ballots delivered at 3 am and covering up the windows while "counting" ballots in Detroit just cements in my mind the fix was in.
