They’re not free, our grandchildren are paying for it on top of the $30 trillion national debt.

You are correct. I've NEVER seen the Government print and hand over such amounts of money. Isn't this what the Confederacy and Germany did?

Might as well just put out a pile of unpackaged and gently used underwear for people to sort through and take their pick. Thanks Gubmint!

Anyone want some free smallpox blankets?

It's a joke alright but the joke is on RN's like me who had to reuse one or two N95 masks for *months* because we were told that there was such a severe shortage of them. Talk to any one of us and we could tell you a similar story - of using N95 masks that were literally falling apart while taking care of Covid infected patients. Of having to follow ridiculous and made up on the fly protocols for keeping them "sterile" or to send them out to the special "cleaners" (who probably also made a friggin fortune on this charade)... Just another slap in the face to health care professionals across the country......

Totally agree. And if we had all these masks stockpiled why the heck were we not using them for you and other HC workers.

A couple of thoughts:

It is true that randomized controlled trials have shown no benefit to wearing masks - I've written about this extensively. Even 3M doesn't claim their masks prevent the spread of infectious respiratory diseases.

On the subject of the individual packaging, these are dust masks and have always been bulk packaged. They were never intended for the prevention of disease, they are for fine dust.

At least before covid they would be inside a box wrapped with plastic.

They are nothing more than a sign of obedience.

And 'they' wonder why 'conspiracy theories' are born 🤦‍♀️. This level of stupid can't be accidental........ and, if it IS accidental, we be seriously screwed.........

Lord Help the stupid!!! It's so sad and funny at the same time. Thank you Jordan!

What's sicker is that people are flocking to actually grab some of these, like its candy? We need to END the MASKerade, not encourage more insanity!

Now we know why this crap continues, all the stupid people.

Yep. Like seeing a physician wear 2 masks. Sad days.

The Internet discovered a lot of underappreciated fetishes, but there just wasn’t a good one for the soccer mom demo until we got filthy-paper-plastic-face-smearophilia. To paraphrase Robert Duvall from “Network” we’ve got a big, big-masked hit here

Everything the government touches is shit. Just more proof. Pre contaminated masks. What a country!

…and the general public, who continues to misunderstand the science, use, and pitfalls of masking will eat this up…because, just like Facebook and Gmail—it’s free! *facepalm*

What a shirt show. This is being handled about as well as a few high school students told they could miss detention if they distributed masks. After this fiasco, I sure hope everyone knows why I don't want government involved in any aspect of my life, least of all anything important.

yes... great LESSON in government INCOMPETENCE 🐱🙏🐱

I guess if you’re dumb enough to believe that a mask will stop a virus, you’re dumb enough to not worry about breathing through contaminated fabric all day.
