DJT was the one supporting McCarthy, the most milquetoast pathetic RINO right up there with Ryan and Romney. DeSantis is trying to build a coalition, which is what is needed to win. He's not going to bow down to those guys and he most certainly isn't going to play by their rules when he is the one chosen to represent the Republican Party as leader.
Exactly. Sadly, in order for a Republican to make it in Washington, they need to play ball with the RINOs, since they control all the money and resources. Once there, the RINOs expect you to answer to them. Trump wanted to work with them but the Border Wall, bringing manufacturing back to the US, and ending our wars in the Middle East meant he had to go. DeSantis did a better job politically than Trump because he laid a political foundation with election integrity laws and his Covid response. DeSantis had already spent 6 years in DC and he knew how they operated. If he becomes President, expect him to first shore up the Republican party, and only then start changing things.
