I have a really hard time believing that China is this stupid. My money is on PSYOPS or they want to put the squeeze on the global economy for some reason.
China is friends with Russia. We're punishing Russia. China is punishing us. We can't fight Russia and we can't fight China. So they flex and cripple us more.
I think it's real -- and I think folks will have a hard time understanding the Chinese mindset. Authoritarians making a promise that a.) COVID will kill you, and b.) the CCP will keep you safe will expect this kind of action overall. But lockdowns are still incredibly destructive, won't work, and people will suffer. If a critical mass gets down to Survival v-Meme level, expect fireworks. Of the human kind.

I lived in HK for 4 years. The collective consciousness of China is disgusting. They don’t care about human or animal life. They care about money, appearances and control.
It is possible that they actually believe the lockdown tripe. I have noticed that there is a division between people of faith and people without faith on the issue of Covid. It's not a division without a number of outliers, but generally it holds. People without faith are scared to distraction and illogic. This includes many "leaders" throughout the world. That's not to say there isn't a psyop in play as well, or at least a willingness to use a crisis.
i'm starting to wonder if we are witnessing the beginning stages of the collective monster of authoritarianism eating itself. collusion between powerful forces is certainly occurring, but the patterns i've been observing throughout these two years is knee jerk reactions that instinctively follow the playbook of the most totalitarian leader. that sort of paradigm is bound to end in autocannibalism, and i doubt this beast knows when to stop.
They wont admit it. But the vaccine was obviously a complete failure. It may have created a lesser immunity in the Chinese and opened them up to any infection. I don't know if the Chinese vaccine are similar to ours, but looking at the web the same rhetoric is displayed, they are not effective at all.
