Restricted by government ethic rules??? He got royalties! If that’s not an ethics violation. I work for a state nonprofit & because we receive federal, state & local funding we can’t even have a “local” grocery store or restaurant sponsor our Christmas party. Can’t give or accept gifts among fellow coworkers. It ridiculous. But he can receive millions from pharmaceutical companies. It infuriates me. ANY Government Employee or Politician should never get money from pharmaceutical companies.
A bit off topic, but this highlights how we the peasants, ceded the idea of representative government long ago. In an honest system, there would have been legal measures in place that prohibited ANY federal government official, from retiring/leaving gov services and collecting a paycheck from any company corporations they have had ties to...personally or through policies and contracts.
Sound pretty harsh...you're damn right it is...but that is how you get those in office, who are about the job and not wealth building.
Same goes for investments. You and your immediate family, would be allowed to keep all investments you had prior to entering office, but then ALL trading would be froze, until you left office. If you were caught trading or your family was, you go to jail.
You cannot keep politicians honest, without consequences...today this is crystal clear.
