Will our masters allow us to reject A/i? What if we don't want it? Can I refuse without being placed in a concentration camp? No one has yet proved to me that I need A/i. I have survived quite well for 76 years without it. All I want is a choice, not to be forced into yet another technological wasteland that is severely over-hyped. If you love it...fine...just don't force me to use it.

No one forces you to use it. You are free to reject technology and give up the benefits it provides. I'm the same age and grew up with rotary phones, manual typewriters and cars with standard transmissions, but I now use touch-tone phones, computers, a cell phone and have been driving EVs for 15 years. But I don't have a smart-phone and don't have any social media accounts. Advances in technology give you choices. Jordan's point is that each of us should be able decide on our own which ones to adopt and which ones to reject. And yes, I do use AI for limited purposes--because it makes life easier. My guess is you will too before too long.

We saw how the credentialed priesthood thing worked with COVID.

EA gave us Sam Bankman-Fried, and now this: Fake AI doomers exploiting tech-frightened boomers and job-frightened zoomers to consolidate their own control of the future. We can’t let them have it.

Didn’t we learn anything from the pandemic ? That’s exactly the model you’re describing

I was thinking the same thing. In fact Neil wrote that song based on Anne Franks book

Nevermind that, I'll be strippin' away the old debris and firing up my uncle's brilliant red Barchetta, wind in my hair, shifting and drifting, from a better vanished time...

Spot on analysis. Anyone who approaches me with any kind of "safety" argument can go pound sand. We absolutely must never centralize this technology or gate-keep it in any way. They will certainly keep trying though. I prefer the wild west though many people don't. I suspect a lot of fear is involved. People don't like uncertainty. Especially sociopath elites who want power and control over all us plebes. AI in its current form is simply the tip of the ice berg. We don't know whats underneath yet. This could go many different ways. But it seems likely this tech will circumvent much of the elites power and control over things. They obviously don't like that.

No comment about environmental impacts of massive data centers?

Think they have been able to hide our history from us quite successfully. They are able to exploit the world with our ancestor’s hidden knowledge.

Think they also have a plan to use AI to enslave us. Not sure it’s going to work out quite the way they have planned.

Huxley, Rand , Orwell and others have prepared us for this. Many of us are ready and willing to stand against them.
