As a Marine Corps Infantry Officer serving on active duty from 1978-1982 with platoon leader, weapons and tactics instructor experience, Pete Hegseth is what that miserable bunch in Foggy Bottom deserve and exactly what out nation needs now, not a year from now. 100 egomaniacs all wanting a blended knee, pay homage boy, we control the purse strings…whoops, no the House of Representatives does that,we just advise and consent. What do you advise and consent on Senator Foghorn Leghorn? Oh money and lots of money to run endless 20 year wars that kill great Americans and get us nowhere to protect an elite class of wealthy people that care so little for our nation that they scraped it clean, denuded the middle and lower class of any sense of prosperity and a future, left them demoralized and wondering about their children and grandchildren’s futures, whilst they escape to gated enclaves and count their money. Hegseth is a disrupter, and more so because he knows how to fight his way out of a “near ambush” and knows how, because he had to lead his patrol out of one, in one of the many shitholes of the middle and near east regions he deployed to multiple times.

This whole effort is a damned disgrace, our current military can’t fight its way out of a paper bag right now, at least on a peer foe basis, and that is what they are by LAW supposed to be able to do, fight at least one major full scale war/conflict with a peer foe, namely Russia and or China. When Americans wake up one morning and see the CVN Ronald Reagan listing 20 degrees to port on fire with the small nuclear reactor about to blow, several ships of the line sunk at the waterline and a Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) on three ships sunk and 7,000 Marines and 2,000 sailors dead wounded or missing they might be well to ask “how did this happen? Good question, ask your senators, that is if you can find them. Here’s a clue start looking under the desks of their senate offices in the capital. Most will be cowering there hoping that they can’t be found.

Let’s hope the reverse publicity tour that young Hegseth is on right now outside the capital gets enough Americans to call these wastes of taxpayer money called senators and tells them to wake up and get right and confirm Pete Hegseth. Let’s hope equally Orangeman Bad doesn’t go all wobbly, and gives his SecDef nominee a chance to have an open session hearing, so the world can what he is, and and stands for, and just how awful those senators are as people, and what rudderless fools they all are.

WOW, I love this comment. So well said and so accurate. They feel emboldened because they scared Matt Gaetz off... that's another reason we need to make them approve Pete and the others.

Hegseth, is a troop leader with platoon and company level active combat fighting experience. The generals of WWII fought in WWI as platoon and company commander upfront and personal. The generals that I served with had been platoon commanders and or company commanders in WWII and Korea, the guys who trained me in the Infantry and whom I reported to, where platoon and company commanders in Vietnam. See a pattern? Great leaders are combat tested and are made so at the front lines level of active fire fighting and patrolling. Thanks to Goldwater Nichols we have a bunch of 2,3,4 star joint command jerks who have spent all their time drinking milk and eating cookies and combing each others back hair. It’s infuriating that the senate is even notionally debating the nomination of Hegseth for SecDef. Let’s hope he gets confirmed and starting with our disastrous current Commandant of the Marine Corps, fires them ALL!

There are secret subsistance levels the Deep State is prepared to accept in order to maintain power in the event ot a nuclear war. One they would start themselves. They are 50+ days away from using it or losing it.

The ammount of layered duplicate government services, steaks, toilet paper, and booze hidden under 3 mountains behind double 3 foot thick blast doors is staggering. After a 15 minute helicopter ride outa Dodge, they survive and everyone else dies.

Ya, I am serious. C.O.G.

I believe Terminator movies are prophetic, unlike those that think they are fantasy.

Those and others - Minority Report, the Divergent and Hunger Games series - all of which are most appropriate now. My dream was to teach social studies/history to high school students with movies but I left teaching before it could happen. Now it wouldn't be allowed which is one small reason I left. I think a lot of movies are prophetic but few understand that.

Few students could even detect those subtle subplots outside the love interests, gun fights and car crashes unless a teacher requests students to watch for prophetic, moral instances for discussion after.

The teacher's goal is to guide the discussion and encourage critical thinking. One of my favorite professors gave the most difficult finals in college after our course on the pre-WWII period in Europe study of significant philosophers and economists - "Does the ends justify the means?" That's the kind of thinking I love.

I got my husband Pete Hegseth's book, The War on Warriors. If they'd read the introduction they'd understand why he was chosen to be Secretary of Defense. I was surprised by how clearly he explains the problematic issues facing our military today and what needs to be done to restore a fighting force ready to respond to the threats facing us.

The main problem with the Congressional and Administrative Branches is that few have served in the military, and even fewer of those were in actual combat. That means few of our representatives understand the need for our military to be ready to fight and what it means to be prepared, they don't understand military culture and why DEI has no place in it, and they have made sure that the top military appointments in the Pentagon are overloaded with political appointments to protect civilian contract businesses.

Hegseth would work with other new Administrative appointments to change the focus, goals, and standards of our military to equip our country with a fighting force that would be prepared to meet any country that challenged us, therefore ensuring we had the biggest stick, and bringing back some amount of global stability.

I think it's both sides doing this because they have businesses with contracts that need protection. That goes for DOGE too. They need to make the nominations and keep quiet about their goals as each thing that's discussed the Administration is attempting to counter with Executive Orders and Congressional approval. Remind Trump that "Loose lips sink ships", mum's the word.

Hegseth is a blooded veteran with a very long and excellent record of working for veterans.

The Country needs someone with the confidence of the Veterans, and the Army because it’s the same thing, and because DC has lost us, just as they have the country. In a choice between DC and America pick America, in a contest between the ranks and DC … be wise and do not further offend the ranks.

Know what I mean Senator?

Nice gig you got there, shame if something happened to it…

Hegseth can get 100% of the Dem vote by just showing up at the confirmation hearing wearing a dress and carrying some stolen luggage.

If the SecDef nomination hangs on the votes of some Rino Senators who are adamant that they want someone who will placate their future demands, Hegseth may not be their man, and they may have better luck with DeSantis for future negotiations. (Remember that some of the Rinos convinced DeSantis to throw his hat into the primary ring, drawing the hostility of President Trump.) The President will need the Rino Senators support to get the cabinet he needs to get the reforms completed before the 2026 mid-terms.

"The Senate wants the United States military to report to them, not to the U.S. Commander-in-Chief." (Sundance at The Last Refuge)

See @MikeBenzCyber anything and especially his last 'cast with Rogan. The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence is foremost in our foreign policy and they get very rich using Top Secret Clearances to move the stock market. It is disgusting.

As a former platoon sgt Hegseth is pissing all the right people off and is fully qualified.

Trump undoubtedly will vet these “advisers and associates” and their advice. Hegseth is just one more appointee that scares hell out of the “establishment”!! So time to cast some doubts!! Offering some bimbo a bundle of cash to make up yet another “assault” allegation case to degrade a reputation speaks exactly to the playbook of the Washington Cabal!!
