May well be true but someone has to push the regime over the edge. Someone does not include us, at least in my view. Best would be the Iranian people. We and the Israelis have degraded the regime's capacity to conduct another massacre as well as their ability to threaten the world at large. But have we degraded it enough? Typically regimes fall when the military forces they control decide they will switch sides or just go home. Thus it was with the revolution that brought the Ayatollahs to power initially as well as the French revolution, the Bolshevik revolution, the fall of the USSR, the recent events in Venezuela or tomorrow's in Cuba. If we can identify a center of resistance inside Iran, we should drop arms to even the odds and help persuade the military to go home.

There are even rumors he is actually dead, and was elected dead so that Israel can't kill the new ayatollah.

That said, since there are opposition reports coming from Iran that he is hospitalized in coma, I guess that's more likely. Who knows if he ever wakes up though.

I find it interesting that media everywhere are reporting it as fact that he issued this new statement, when in fact there are very good reasons to suspect he didn't.

Undoubtedly the US Military leadership are acutely aware of all you’ve said Jordan. They will move in with the appropriate unquestionable annihilation of regional commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the ayatollahs, along with anything else that stands in the way of Iran’s freedom and that of Christian world democracy!!

President Trump’s world class Military will eradicate Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s son Mojtaba Khamenei just as they did the old Ayatollah! Obliterating the intensive care unit of Sina University Hospital in Tehran’s historic quarter will be an easy start!!

I hope the bastard is incapacitated permanently. The problem is as long as Iran keeps pushing out missiles and drones and interrupting shipping, we will continue the war. We need to get some AKs and RPG to the people so they can topple the government, ghost or not.

My thoughts exactly. This is the most dangerous of scenarios. No one has authority to surrender or even negotiate. If anyone tries, another despot-wannabe will kill him. The route to success is either through the Iranian people (If the "Shah" will stop telling them to stand down) or total annihilation of the IRGC. Stop debating and start killing. As someone who spent 45 years in this dirty business.

I totally agree with you. I wouldn’t believe anything coming out of the IRGC or any subsequent Ayatollah who can actually be shown on camera. They might rival our own den of liars on the left and the RINOs on the right. They might even be worse than the MSM!

In my opinion, as much bombing as the U.S. and Israel have done, there’s probably only random IRGC leaders left to run the show and the rest of the guard who are are in and around the Straight of Hormuz launching off mines. The only reason why those terrorists are alive is because they weren’t in Iran when it started.

Nothing new to those of us in the "west". All our "leaders" are puppets or ghosts

I agree with your analysis. The supreme leader is completely irrelevant. It doesn't matter if he is actually alive or dead. The IRGC is acting on their own now and will not stop until they are literally destroyed. Their weapons are likely nearly depleted, sowing false information and confusion is about the only tactic they have left. But there are a lot of people who make up the IRGC and I have a feeling their resolve will not be shaken no matter how many leaders get taken out. They will all fight till the end so it might take a little time to whittle them down. I will be curious to see what the US next moves will be. The regular armed forces of Iran are not zealots, so I wonder if we will try to tap them to start a civil war. I would prefer not to see us put any actual boots on the ground there.

"We have enough ayatollahs to last a century," said the official spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran. "We have been stockpiling them for quite some time, and they are safely stored in a hidden location. Your bombs cannot get to them. We have been saving them for such a time as this, and will not hesitate to deploy them. You have been warned."
