Whether the Covid response was premeditated or it was just glorious happenstance that we had a pandemic right after these folks "practiced" for a nearly identical one, we can say that their response to the actual pandemic was an unmitigated disaster. Their top down approach showed us exactly how not to respond to a pandemic. The result of the overly broad public health policies caused a lot of pain, not in the airy halls of the bureaucratic ivory towers, but here on the ground. Find a way to resist them in the future. Resist politically, and in the market place. If our conveniences are more important that our freedoms.... then God help us.

Bravo! I totally agree. Leave DeSantis in FL to finish what he has only begun to correct in that state. Our system of change every 4 years vs that of Russia and China means those leaders only have to hold their breath for 4 years until someone like Biden comes along. Better strategy would be to have Trump try to pick up where he left off and have a like minded candidate in the wings, i.e. DeSantis to carry the torch with consistent Governance. The issue with Trump (in my humble opinion) is this:
1. He will get little to no support from Reps in the house and senate. I think 5 or 10 would stand up against more impeachments, but it will be futile. Without the support, any good he does, will be short lived.
2. The deep state will pick up where they left off, but this time, they'll have already solidified their positions in all the bureaucracies, so the process of persecution, will be faster and more complete. He and the country will be mired, in a 4 year long dem cesspool.

Bravo! I totally agree. Leave DeSantis in FL to finish what he has only begun to correct in that state. Our system of change every 4 years vs that of Russia and China means those leaders only have to hold their breath for 4 years until someone like Biden comes along. Better strategy would be to have Trump try to pick up where he left off and have a like minded candidate in the wings, i.e. DeSantis to carry the torch with consistent Governance. I'm tired of those who say Trump is "divisive." He merely fights back from the derision cast his way.
The issue with Trump (in my humble opinion) is this:
1. He will get little to no support from Reps in the house and senate. I think 5 or 10 would stand up against more impeachments, but it will be futile. Without the support, any good he does, will be short lived.
2. The deep state will pick up where they left off, but this time, they'll have already solidified their positions in all the bureaucracies, so the process of persecution, will be faster and more complete. He and the country will be mired, in a 4 year long dem cesspool.
Understand, that the moderates (on both sides) that see joe brandon as a drooling, deranged, dementia patient, did not become Trump fans...they just understand the damage mumbles biden is doing, to the country and their wallets. If Trump were back in office, they would happily re-join their America hating brethren, on the left.
3. If Trump went back in and tried to "clean house" as it were, you would see a modern day re-enactment of when the Roman Senate and the elites, declared Cesar a tyrant.
Just as Jan 6th united the swamp against any opposition...Trump calling for the dismantling of 3 letter bureaucracies, would have virtually every politician screaming tyranny and calling for either immediate impeachment, 25th amendment to be enacted or him to be removed from office forcibly by the DOJ.
It would have nothing to do with the legality or constitutionality of said action...but the preservation of the deep state and the TEET they all suckle from.
I would bet money, that even the SCOTUS would side with the "preserve the status quo" majority and call for his removal.
Now, lest many think I am an anti-trump person...I voted for him twice and think he was one of the most effective Presidents we've had. If it were 20 years ago, he would make Regan look like an armature, in some respects. However, we are not in the past and the times we are living in now, are drastically skewed and F'ed up.
We need to play the long game and stop begging for a singular savior, in each election cycle.
We have to take the local governments back, then build up from there.
That will take decades...which means decades of pain and suffering...but it is what it is.
Have a solid conservative base, at the city and state levels and in 30 years, we will have viable and strong Presidential candidates to choose from. One thing is for sure...the way we (conservatives) have been fighting this war...isn't working.

The country will make it (in name only), but it won't be the country we have always thought it was. In truth is started really sliding down the slope when Wilson took office. No one noticed, because the majority of Americans were the ones who still had those values, that we today long for and look back fondly on...work hard, help your neighbor, mind your own business, pride in your country, faith in God, teach kids right and wrong, responsibility, boy are boy and girls are girls, child molesters are evil and are to be jailed or killed, etc. The rot was just stating so no one really paid attention, but it was there.

They will gripe and complain about recession and rising gas/food prices, then run to the theaters and spend in some cases over $100 to see the new top gun...you know a movie that is made by people and an industry that hates America and conservative Americans.

Americans will trade their freedoms, health, morals, integrity, courage, faith and families (children in particular) for just 3 things...Comfort, Convenience and Entertainment. Entertainment, arguably being the number one items traded for.
Look at any part of the current societal break down and at every turn people were offered ultimatums..."do, support or agree with this...or you lose this"...or the time tested..."do, support or agree with this and we'll GIVE you this".
It is far easier to choose to be entertained (distracted) than to focus on what is ripping your country, society and in many cases family apart. Our current state is evidence of this fact.

Many parallels you've also read history and have learned from it. Just know that it isn't unique to Americans, it's the human condition. Same trades made by the bourgeois in Nazi Germany, Stalin USSR, Stasi East Germany. The preciousness of freedom has to be taught from generation to generation. On this we failed. We made those trade-offs. Okayed hate speech bans on school campuses, demonization of American history taught, participation trophies given for showing up, not earned.
We all allowed this to happen to the youth for the past two generations, trusted authorities and school officials were doing the right thing. Didn't raise a stink when we saw the first infringements, wasn't that big a deal and we could see why the infringements were restricted. Our collective fault, even Patriots for allowing this to happen. We'd complain about the Weathermen terrorists being released from prison and then hired on as Dean's at major universities. But did nothing.
The indoctrination is strong, minds taught to believe in values that are antithetical to the Constitutional rights and liberties we had passed down to us. Our opponents have a long head start. Some minds may never be reclaimed, forever lost to an evil ideology. But we have to start to reclaim the ones we can. Freedom is yearned for by the hearts of most, a universal ideal. But the word has been linguistically twisted to mean the opposite, Orwellian "Freedom is Slavery" level Newspeak. Common sense, self reliance, rugged individualism must be taught by example and the empowerment that comes with it experienced by the young. It's infectious and contagious when experienced.
And we must return to faith in God. A godless society lacking morals and values will necessarily need to ruled by an authoritarian elite. Godless societies are never free. Men subjugate other men who are unruly lacking faith in a higher power that commands us to live viruously. We don't get out of this awful mess until we return to faith in God as a nation. I am absolutely aware, that this is a perpetual conditioning program, to instill an affinity for those three things. I usually refer to and align this premise with Americans...well because I'm an American. You're point is however, quite valid and well taken.

We've allowed the demonization of faith and God, by our apathy and idolization of materialism, hedonism and the practice of self omnipotence.
