Doug Burgum is genius with his entire campaign pathway. Whether he'd make a great VP candidate or office holder is another question. But he has impressive business acumen.

Yep. I didn't want to add any political analysis to this. Two separate issues.

He wouldn’t….from someone that knows.

Does he actually bring any voters into the fold, though?

Sure, donate 1 vote and receive a $20 gift card.

It doesn't get mentioned - but what about DeSantis as VP pick?

DeSantis is a bush backed RINO. No thanks.

Gee, if you have to ask why you don’t denounce your mom to sell books and be famous, or don’t denounce mom ever for any reason I can’t explain.

Holy shit Matt. No.

You don’t.

You don’t rat your family, above all your Mother.

Is he an establishment/swamp plant? And is Trump dumb enough to pick him? Unfortunately both answers might be yes.

Expand full comment

What makes you believe he's of and by the Swamp? I see no evidence of that whatsoever. Do you have some?

Expand full comment

He is friends with Bill Gates, he is trying to solve climate change, he is pro men competing in women's sports and he is a billionaire which means more than likely he made his money playing the game. What evidence do you have that he is not a swamp creature?

Expand full comment

A buddy of Bill Gates? Because he sold his software company to Microsoft after Bill Gates was long gone from Microsoft?

His climate change agenda isn't anti-growth and pro-regulation. It's innovation driven and he's not an ideologue on the subject. He's not about allowing Title IX to be decimated by transgender participation of men in women's sports like the Governor of South Dakota....and it's not a good thing that he built a company that create jobs and prosperity in his state? That makes him a creature of the Washington swamp blob? C'mon you can do better than that.

Expand full comment

Is Burgum paying you to change the historical record? You must be his number one hype man or his paid PR firm. You sound like the Trump sycophants who ignore reality and pretend Trump is some incredible savior when he endorses swamp creatures right and left. If Burgum isn't an establishment/swamp creature than I guess there are none. Also breaking news, Trump was a swamp creature up until 2016 and now has become one again.

So exactly who are you supporting for POTUS in 2024, sir?

Coming in hot! Always nice to call someone a liar and make a declaration about not listening to them. Do a little research and comeback with facts. Thank you.

Expand full comment

Also - in 2023 Burgum signed a ND law that prohibits transgender males from competing in women's sports. So your point that he's pro men competing in women's sports is simply untrue.

Expand full comment

Mark - with all due respect - your comments about Burgum aren't accurate. I'm no flack for him - and aren't even sure he's be a good VP candidate. But your reasoning against him lacks fact-based substance.

Expand full comment

I am open to being corrected so feel free to explain where I am off track. My understanding is Burgum vetoed the trans sports law in 2021 and only signed the law in 2023 because it was veto proof. My understanding is Bill Gates was his biggest donor in 2016. My understanding is Burgum loves to discuss clean energy like wind and solar and wants to build a pipeline to pump CO2 into the Earth so the global temperature doesn't rise too much and kill us all. My understanding is that if you sell your company to Microsoft and pocket millions, you are "playing the game." Where I admit I got off track, and now apologize for, is he is not a billionaire, just really, really rich.

I do not see how Burgum improves Trump's chances in the election. A guy from a state with 50 registered voters seems useless to improving Trump's chances.

This act of slight-of-hand just to meet a qualification quota tells me he sees greater wealth coming from his elevation to national office. That he is willing to invest that much personal wealth without having any news-breaking ideas or policies gives me reason to dislike him immediately. Trump was very open in 2015/2016 about the changes in government that he sought to implement. I still don't know what Burgum stands for.

This investment by Arthur Ventures positions RFX Solutions to become an even more dominant force in the healthcare compliance landscape, ultimately leading to a future where streamlined processes and reduced risks allow healthcare professionals to prioritize what matters most – patient care.

Sounds like a Trump pick for sure 😂.

Look at his son in law…

In the past, Vice Presidents were chosen in a hope that they would bring voters from their state with them. Instead of voters, Burgum seems to have ideas that shows he consistently thinks outside the typical box. With the issues facing the US as the election approaches, He brings value to the ticket.

Expand full comment

In the past few VP candidates brought a state along with them in the W column. VP's should be chosen for their ability to take on the job of POTUS should it be necessary (see current VP for proof of that statement) and secondly for any election mojo they can conjure.

Burgum routed the usual pols with his cunning, just like Trump did in 2016. The world is on fire and I believe a Trump/Burgum ticket would douse those flames.

A smarter version of Pence…

Which isn’t hard.

Expand full comment

My major issue with Pence was that he failed to realize that there are THREE actors that make up our government - The Executive, The Legislative, and The Judicial. He could have asked the states in question to re-certify the votes. The opposition party would have immediately challenged him and it would have gone to The Judicial Branch for decision, just as in Bush v Gore years ago. Instead, he did not and, even though there are many issues that are suspicious, he accepted the votes and the rest is history. He sorely disappointed a large number of Americans by his action.

Expand full comment

Yes. He was a complete stiff.

If the reporting I read was correct, a motion was on the floor on Jan 6 to challenge the election, this would have given standing to the SCOTUS to review, it only needed a second to the motion… not a vote up.

JUST THEN THE COMMANDOS … well actually Grandmothers LARPING Norman Rockwell … STORMED THE CAPITOL… er were let in by the Cops.

The floor was suspended, evacuated and the emergency rules in effect when resumed, so no vote or motions, election ratified.

Well.

Now Pence was a coward, but so was Trump. That’s it.

Now as it happens, DC is going, it really is collapsing slowly, and the Veep is irrelevant. What is relevant is what must be done can be done… the end of DC as we have known it for a century.

The Democrats are correct, Trump is the Usher of the Apocalypse.

Then again, that just shows how weak it is…

Trump has stated he wants a VP who can serve 4 as VP & 8 as a 2 term president. That makes the great Ben Carson too old imo. Age is a factor. JD Vance is my pick.

I’d rather Trump pick El Chapo as Veep, he was good to his Mother.

Again, not all moms are good and some even deserve to be denounced. Picking El Chapo over Vance is far worse than denouncing your mom, especially if she deserves it.

1) He came from Microsoft, monopoly, corrupt.

3) Has nothing of his own on the line.

4) Has no real followers

Ben Carson should be Trump's pick. There's still an unbelievable amount of mainstream establishment republican normies that despite the disaster and destruction of the biden regime at home and abroad still cannot stand Trump. Call it stubborn pride or ignorance. But Carson would bring these voters into the Trump camp with his intelligence, softness, and his blackness.
