Let's make American tech companies great again. I want to see us unleash American engineers. I am a software engineer of 20 years and grew up in a household with a parent who was also a software engineer. You know who the best engineers are? Americans and eastern Europeans. My best friend in college was a guy who came to study from China (legally). Probably one of the smartest dudes I ever had the pleasure to meet. In China they train those kids to be very technical and good at math at a young age. They have a more focused learning than the broad liberal arts studies we have here in America. There is just one problem, my friend can't engineer his way out of a paper bag. Its not just him, but my whole life as a kid and now first hand in the industry I still see the same thing. Asian/Eastern foreigners, who are intelligent, can't engineer their way out of a paper bag. Just being blunt, these people are lowering the standards and quality of engineering in general. 1/100 H-1Bs are actually any good. Behind all those foreigners in tech I promise there is an American in a backroom somewhere keeping things working and fixing the crap that these foreigners do. There are very intelligent and capable people here in America who are way more capable than any foreigner but they are simply not given a chance. Also China absolutely just copies us. That's how they have gotten to the spot they are now. I guess we will see what China is truly capable of. Maybe they will elevate the tech they stole from us but its yet to be shown that they are capable of that. That doesn't mean China is not an incredible threat because they are. On the other hand Japan is a great example of a country who copied everything we did and then elevated it. Not sure what makes the difference there. Maybe just culture and mindset.
Have you ever listened to what these technocrats like Theil, Schmidt, Karp, et al are saying about the future they are building? If you did, you could clearly see that they are building a totalitarian state. China is their mentor.
Kudos to Jackson County Florida and their recent ban on AI data centers.
I hope you have the ear of at least one of Trump's advisors. This is one of the stupider things he's done, and there's a lot of competition for that honor.
I think that the overall national rivalry will end with a US victory so long as the CCP rules China, but that's more due to the costs of Chinese tyranny (and it's preference to deny reality instead of admit fault, lose face, and correct mistake) than any US superiority.
Both the People's Republic and the United States will be facing real problems this decade, which will only intensify over time. Americans need to focus on home, rather than on China.

China doesn’t give a shit if it poisons or cuts off resources to most of its population in its pursuit of AI. We are not China. At least, I’m not, so I’ll be for bans in my state.
The datacenter theoretically generates more wealth than the humans, therefore it can pay more for electricity and water than the humans, therefore the cost of electricity and water rises beyond human affordability.
Don't expect us Americans to support AI until the AI companies explicitly have a American Sovereign Wealth Fund like the Norwegians and United Arab Emirates so we won't be bankrupt when it inevitably takes our jobs.
